Elsa Lanchester. Who could you see playing her part??  I just wish Tim Burton had the rights to remake this classic to insure that it doesn’t get ruined by anyone and because I know it will be a masterpiece with his flare added to it.  Of course the only lead woman to fit in Lanchester’s Frankenshoes for this would be Helena Bonham Carter.  Noone could do the role better.  I dare someone to say otherwise.
But here’s what I hear:
The Hollywood Reporter’s Risky Biz Blog reports that Universal is teaming with Imagine to re-do Bride of Frankenstein. Should talks work out, Neil Burger (The Illusionist) will write the remake with writing partner Dirk Wittenborn. This isn’t a new idea for Hollywood; Apparently they have been trying for years to get a remake of this amazing classic up and going. Most recently, the Bride was going to be transplanted to modern New York with Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, but as of now, Burger’s spin will “differ significantly.”
What the hell is that about?  None can claim this and recreate such a masterpiece but Burton.  None.  I would have nothing but faith in his remaking this film but Wittenborn and Burger??  Who the heck is Wittenborn??  The Illusionist was a nice movie but comes nowhere near any movie Tim Burton has created.
My opinion.  Tell me yours.
